Blasting our way into April with more Imperial March to May the Forth, Star Wars Breakdowns! Taking on the Breakdowns first flight sim in the form on Star Wars: Starfighter! Star Wars: Starfighter was released in 2001 for the PC and PS2. It was one of the more anticipated releases of it’s year, apparently, and got fairly good reviews all around.
I remember first playing this game on PS2. I was looking for Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter (it’s sequel), and bought this by mistake. I can remember not being super impressed, and then even a little dissapointed by it’s “multiplayer”. But I’m here almost ten years later to try it out again, only this time on the PC.
Star Wars: Starfighter is an action game, developed and published by LucasArts, that takes place right before the Battle of Naboo. The player unites alongside three starfighter pilots and is allowed to take control of several different spacecraft to help stop the invasion that threatens Naboo.
Ten months after the initial release on PlayStation 2, an Xbox version was released under the title Star Wars: Starfighter: Special Edition with enhanced graphics, improved multiplayer and several other upgrades. The Xbox and PC ports were performed by Secret Level. – Wikipedia
